About the King's Servants Quartet

The King's Servants Quartet is based in Knoxville, TN. The quartet dates back to the late 1970's, with the following original members: Lynn Brewer-lead, Wayne Clapp-bass, Donnie Corum-tenor, Ron Spencer-baritone. Musicians included David Bilyeu-piano, Bruce Johnson-lead guitar, and Kenny Cupp-bass guitar.

The King's Servants had a huge following in the east Tennessee area and made countless personal appearances during the late 70's and early 80's.

Other notable members with the King's Servants were Steve French of the Kingdom Heirs, David McGill, former lead singer for the Kingdom Heirs and presently with the Bread of Life Quartet, Wayne Mitchell, former tenor for the Kingdom Heirs, and David Hoskins, DJ for WJBZ 96.3 FM and manager of Cross 4 Crowns.

The quartet produced 3 albums: Album #1: What A Beautiful Day, Album #2: Love That Gospel, and album #3: the King's Servants.

The King's Servants sing Southern Gospel quartet music. Compare them to the likes of the Kingsmen Quartet, Gold City, and the Cathedrals. Song selections included songs written by Kenny Hinson, Squire Parsons, Bill Gaither, and original songs from founding group member Ron Spencer.

1995, The King's Servants performed a reunion concert at Little Flat Creek Baptist Church in Corryton, TN. This was the last time bass singer Wayne Clapp was able to sing, as he later passed away from liver cancer.
